The Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ
The Death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundational Christian belief, that God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day after His Crucifixion as recorded in the New Testament. The assertion was made on Sunday by Rev. Prophet Sunday. V. O Okpere JP during Easter Special worship at the headquarters of Deliverance Holy Mission Int’L. Benin City. He enjoined believers of Jesus Christ to understand that, the resurrection guarantees that, followers of Jesus will also be raised from the dead if they are faithful till the end. Noting that, the commemoration of Easter transformed fearful followers into passionate evangelistic establishing the core message of Christianity that Christ is alive today.
He supported his assertion with the Scripture he took from John 20:1-31 and said, Easter Season renew the Faith of those who truly believed in Jesus Christ, inspire them to be strong and fill them with courage and resilience. He admonished Christian Parents not to abuse the Easter holiday but to take their children to church where they can worship and hear the Word of God.
