Enter into covenant with God 4
This was the sermon Preached during the fourth Sunday Covenant week Prayer declarations by Rev Prophet Dr S. V. O Okpere JP at the Headquarters of Deliverance Holy Mission Int’L Benin City, where he enjoined Christians irrespective of denominations to return to God and seek His Kingdom First above all their pursuits. Noting that too much sins in the Land has made God to turned back against our Nation, which is evident in the continuous hardship unabated. The Prophet said, the same God who answered the Prayers of two major religious Bodies in this Nation in 1998, when they went to Eagle Square Abuja to Pray for three days each is still alive. For He has said, if His people, which are Called by His Name, shall humble themselves, and Pray, and SEEK His face, and Turn away from their wicked ways: then He will hear from Heaven, He promises to forgive their sins and heal their Land. He Supported his assertion with the Scripture he took in 2nd Chronicles 7:14, Proverbs 14:34, Isaiah 59:1–3, Matthew 6:25–33, Prophet Okpere noted that Jesus invites as many people who desires peace and prosperity for the Nation to come and Spend their lives pursuing things of eternal values, making God a priority in all they seek in this New Year. And said, we cannot help ourselves with many of the things we are worrying about. Instead of expending our energies in anxious Pursuit for ourselves, we are to submit to God’s sovereign rule and live confidently in His ability to take care of us.
