Text: Ephesians 1:3-14
Attention: All Sufficient Grace
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.
Brethren, everything in the universe is the fruit of chance and necessity. The only man who makes no mistakes is the man who never does anything. The man of thought who will not act is ineffective: The man of action who will not think is dangerous, but a wise man is superior to any insult which can put upon him, and the best reply to unseemly behaviour is patience and moderation.
Welcome as we are now in this second half, I look up to God and said, though I suffered in the face of the tongue lashing people in the same ministry, among them are those I spent my money to assist, yet I am being persecuted. Such action can never stop me from preaching the gospel (1Corinthians 9:16-27) I want us to look at the All sufficient Grace that covers all struggles. Life is not what you are able to achieve by yourself; there is God’s element. Always understand that many people went to bed last night with greater plans of what to do this morning, but not many lived to see today. There are many gasping for air to breath this moment.
Brethren, so when you travel and return, it is not because you are careful in your driving, nor because you are smart. Have you not heard of people who are very careful in their journey, who kept the rules of driving, kept their sides and yet they could not return home? This is what Apostle Paul said, ‘’no man should boast of his self-sufficiency’’. Our sufficiency is of God. It is God who has covered our heads from arrows (2Corinthians 12:9-10). This he said God talks of all sufficient grace that we are talking. Many things would seem t have gone wrong in our lives, just as I told one of my pastors on Monday 14th July 2014. There is none that is not disable in this planet earth. We are what we are by God’s grace (Ephesians 1:7; 2corinthians 3:5). We should neither boast nor mock anybody whose disability may be obvious. There are those whose disability may be internal while we have more disability in the external.
A person like Apostle Paul whom the devil will see and run away is as a result of the divine grace of God. Beloved, God’s grace is rich in value. You can cross all red sea of life through this grace. You can get water from the rock through this grace. The world will not know the source of your strength when the grace of God is in operation in your life. Saul lacked it at the later part of his ministry, which I referred to as his second half of his years. He wanted to influence David with his unfailing grace. Thank God David quickly identified the failing strength of Saul, hence he detached himself (1Samuel 17:26-40). Note verses 38-40. Don’t ever think you can fight your battle with arms of your strength.
