The Living Sacrifice

This was the sermon Preached on Sunday by Rev. Prophet Dr. S. V. O Okpere JP during the 2024 Festival of nine Lessons and Carols with Theme: “WHEN YOUR STAR APPEARS THE WISE MEN WILL SEARCH FOR YOU”(Matthew 2:10). and Presentations of Christmas gifts to Widows, at Deliverance Holy Mission Int’L headquarters Benin City. He urged believers in Christ Jesus to use the season of Christmas to demonstrate Christlike virtues and promote brotherly kindness to their host communities without sentiments most importantly to give themselves fully to the service of God and humanity and take the work of God very seriously. He noted that, what is affecting the Body of Christ today, is that most Christian Leaders now take joy in taking from their congregations without any care for the less privileged ones but rather involved themselves more in materialism and other pleasures of this World, except very few that cares.

Prophet Sunday Okpere Supported his assertion with the scripture he took in Psalms 41:1–3, Matthew 2:1–12, Romans 12:1–3, and James 1:26 & 27, Admonished Christians to avoid the temptation of mixing up their Spiritual lives with materialism which seems to be competitive in the Body of Christ. And noted that, what Christmas means to believers in Christ is to replicate the Love of God to humanity by sharing with widows indeed in their afflictions and to keep themselves unspotted from the world.

Highlights of the Service includes: prophetic declarations for peace to reign in Edo state. Festivals of nine Lessons which was taken by selected readers with Amb. Hon. Agharese Idubor read the first lesson. While, the Senior Triumphant Voices rendered all selected carols. Presentation of wrappers, tubers of yams bags of rice with envelopes containing some amount of money to the widows and refreshments for all that were presents brings the service to a closed.
