Attitude of Gratitude (Season 1)

This was the sermon preached on Sunday by Rev. Prophet Dr S. V. O Okpere (JP) at Deliverance Holy Mission Int’L Headquarters Benin City, where he tasked Christian Leaders to teach their congregations to be involved in attitudes of gratitude to God, especially for the gift of lives despite the adversities and draught in our Lands. He noted that the secret of greatness is in the willingness to show gratitude to God and humanity without seasons. He admonished the congregation to always give a worthy thanksgiving for God’s awesome Power that did not allow us to disappear since the beginning of the year 2024 despite all the happenings that claimed many lives. He supported his assertion with the scripture he took in Psalms 50:14 & 15. Malachi 1:6–14, and 2nd Corinthians 9:6-15. Noting that whenever we stand before the Altar of God to give Him thanks, we should think of a worthy and heart touching offerings, because whatever we give to appreciates God represents the values we have for Him, which is also the values of who we are before Him.

The Prophet lamented that, many believers has reduced mid year harvest thanksgiving to be smaller harvest thanksgiving which ought not to be so, and said, surviving to see a new day is more than enough reasons to give Him worthy thanksgiving, for we are thanking God for the several ways He has fought our unseen battles for us and our families.
