Your Labour shall Not Be In Vain

Text: I Cor.9:16-27

Memory Verse: I cor. 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Introduction:

Brethren, in yet another wonderful lesson, we were taught last Sunday that according to the topic that “Your Labour shall Not Be In Vain” for the all sufficient grace of god will reward you. What a soothing word of relief to a consistent labourer in god’s vineyard! Study the continuation.

Brethren, God by himself has designed the life structures of every man and put the age beyond what can be achieved. Just like Cain and Abel, many lost out half way or what I will describe “at their first half” on their games. Life is built around the time frame of a football match across the whole world. Those who planned the football game planned it with God’s structures of what man’s life could entitle him in this world. Genesis 6:3.

Here who understands, because of the flesh in man his life span could be 120 years. It could be defined thus: the full time of a football match is 90 minutes. If nothing is achieved at the full time, the referee could ask for extra time. As you may know, extra time is always 30 minutes fixed.

Peradventure what you could not achieve in your first and second halves can be achieved during the extra time. Full time plus extra time is equal to 120 years. If nothing is achieved, the only option is a penalty kick which is not based on expertise, but on Grace only (2 Cor. 12:8-10; Eph 2:7-9)

This is why you see most people, just like my father, Pa Dick Ebhojieaye Okpere lived 122 years. It is as a reason of strength as quoted in Psalm 90:10-12. During the penalty kick, everybody could be tired, while grace now takes over. This could be the reason why Apostle Paul said…Read I Cor. 15:9-11. Grace respects what you put into your services. He also respects your faith, works and your diligence. Read psalm 126:1-6. While you jump and shout the loudest hallelujah, check the condition in verse 5. It is only meant for those who sowed in tears that are qualified to experience that abundance of grace. The Samaritan woman, the widow of the sons of Elisha even the widow of Zerephath all got their victories because of what they sowed (2kings 4:1-16; 1King 17:8-16)

Brethren, there is a great difference between an offering of a thousand naira and what you intended to drop. I encourage those who presume to assist people based on their needs, to learn how to teach them how to invest in the things of heaven (Luke 6:38). It is only when you sowed that you have proved your love for God (1Cor 2:2,8,10). Don’t be ignorant of this fact (Rom 8:28). You must realize that whatever God bless people with are those who love Him and those who are the called according to his purpose.

Your labour shall not be in vain. Your idleness produces nothing. Things work for workers (Joel 2:23-27). When you sow and you harvest delay in coming, it is still for you. A day of restoration such as it is defined here will surely come.

Brethren, let us align with the weekly admonition to always bring our correct tithe of 10% always as god has said in Malachi 8:10-12, not what you call tithe.
